Glaucoma Drainage Device (GDD) Training Program
Cure Glaucoma Foundation has established a “Train the Trainer” Program (TTP). This initiative is designed to teach the latest glaucoma related treatments and/or surgical skills to doctors in developing countries.
Overview
Candidates include local doctors and ophthalmologists who provide glaucoma treatment services in their area or in a community hospital and ophthalmologists who have responsibilities for training other ophthalmologists in residency programs.
Program Objectives
- Train qualified ophthalmologists in the GATT surgical procedure and other glaucoma surgeries.
- Help build relationships between community agencies, health care organizations, andlocal glaucoma patients.
- Bridge the gaps in patient care and ensure access to medical eye products necessary for treating glaucoma.
Who Can Apply
Physicians in developing countries who provide local glaucoma treatment services or who are
affiliated with a residency program, teaching facility, an established eye or community hospital.
