Ruth Roper – Biography

Mrs. Roper and her husband Doug have lived in Fort Worth for 45 years. They have owned and operated Roper Apparel Inc., d.b.a., “The Wardrobe” for 36 years. Before going into business, she taught elementary school.

In addition to participating in the Leadership Fort Worth program, Mrs. Roper assisted in and served on the Parenting Guidance Advisory Board, volunteering as an adult educator for under privileged mothers. She served twice on the Board of Trustees of Beth El Congregation, and as a founding member of the Fort Worth Arthritis Foundation. She is a member of the Junior League and has served in various leadership roles, including working for the Jewel Charity Ball raising funds to promote health care for Cook’s Children’s Medical Center.

When asked about her volunteer service, Mrs. Roper said, “I was raised in a family who cared for the less fortunate by volunteering, raising funds, and making a difference in other’s health and well being.”
